Troubleshooting an Overcurrent Trip (OCT)

An Overcurrent trip (OCT) occurs when the output of the inverter detects an amperage of 200% of the VFDs rating.

For example, let's say a VFDs output rating is 10 Amps. If the output jumps up to 20 Amps, the VFD will trip instantaneously on "OCT" to protect the VFD, motor, and application.

Use the below flowchart to determine what may be the root cause on an Overcurrent trip.
