The difference between AX (auxiliary) and AL (alarm) accessories for MCCBs and MCBs

An alarm switch, designed AL, is used to send a signal that shows whether or not the MCCB or MCB was tripped based upon an electrical fault. It will not operate or close if the MCCB or MCB is operated manually.

An auxiliary switch, designed AX, is used to send a signal that shows whether the MCCB or MCB has been opened or closed and only indicates the position of the MCCB or MCB main contacts.

Both normally come with a single normally open and a single normally closed dry contacts. Please review our MCCB or MCB manuals for proper placement of the switches. Some switches require the location of where the switch will be located, left or right.
