Switchgear to MCRS ( Continuity test ) for Power Supply Verification.
A continuity test is performed to verify whether the outcomming power supply from the switchgear to the MCRS ( Motorized Control Racking System ) is connected correctly or not.
Note: This test is done only when there is any error in the MCRS operation.
Test Procedure:
- A continuity tester/multimeter in continuity mode is used to chech each core of the cable between the switchgear and MCRS.
- The main cable consists of terminals from H1 to H16 which includes power supply , control and feedback signals.

1. ( H1-H2 ) indication of power supply which is comming from switchgear.
2. ( H3-H4 ) Shows the circuit breaker position if it is closed .
3. ( H5-H6 ) Shows the circuit breaker position if it is open.
4. ( H7-H8 ) Shows wether the select swith is on or off .
5. ( H9-H10 ) Shows the Auxilary A and B contacts open and close position.
6. ( H13-H16 ) Shows the positions of circuit breaker whether it is in Disconnected, Test , or Connected position.
By doing this test you will get to know the continuity between switchgear to MCRS.
Thankyou.
