G100 Parameter Read and Write with SmartCopier

G100 Parameter Read and Write with SmartCopier

Below is a step-by-step guide on how to read and write parameters to a G100 drive using the smart copier.

Reading Parameters
1.  First, with the power still on, navigate to DR91 or DRV91 and set it to 3 to start SmartUpLoad. This allows the parameter values to be stored in memory letting the user upload the parameters with the smart copier. If this step is not completed nothing will transfer.

2. Turn power off to the drive. Transfer only occurs with power off.
3. Attach an RJ45 cable to the Ethernet port on the G100 and the sister port on the smart copier.

4. Once connected, turn on the smart copier and navigate to parameter read.
5. A randomly generated file name will be created, make sure to remember it.
6. Press continue to begin the Read operation
7. Even if successful double check that file has contents available. If screen reads "file fail" then proceed to the next step.
8. File fail is usually caused by low battery. Take out the batteries and replace as shown.

9. Redo process until contents of file show up in completed read state.

Reading to an LS Smart Copier is only half of the process when reading and writing parameters between units. Once the smart copier has successfully read from the unit attach the RJ45 cable to a blank G100 and turn the power off. Then continue with the steps below.

NOTE: The smart copier will not do a parameter read if attached to plug adapter. Copier must be at full power on batteries.

Writing Parameters
1. To write the file to a G100 drive plug the RJ45 cable into the drive with the power off.
2. Navigate to Parameter Write on the smart copier.
3. Find the newly created file number and press enter.
4. Press Continue to run the program.
5. If successful smart copier will notify you that the process is complete.
