Resetting SFA and SFB on the S100

Resetting SFA and SFB on the S100

The S100 features a standard STO circuit. This is a redundant safety input on terminals SA, SB, and SC. There is a factory jumper on these terminals which should be removed when wiring up a safety relay or sequence. See below terminal wiring.

This meets EN ISO 13849-1 PLD and EN 61508 SIL2 (stop category 0)
This is simply a fail-safe circuit for machine safety.

When the jumper is removed and when there is an open circuit on SA or SB you will see the below trip codes.

Resetting Methods

There are a few different methods for resetting this trip.
Note that the safety circuit must be closed for the reset to work.
  1. Pressing the reset key on the keypad.
  2. Using a remote reset on the digital inputs. This is default on terminal P4.
  3. A reset can be written over communications.
  4. An automatic reset can be programmed with Pr08=1, Pr09=greater than 0, Pr10= auto reset delay time.*
* The automatic reset function includes general fault trips as well as the safety trips. Also note that the delay time is limited to 60 seconds.
