How do I setup my VFD for an HOA switch?
This FAQ contains the necessary parameter settings for using a multi-function (digital) input to switch between two analog input references. This operation is common to industries utilizing Hand-Off-Auto (HOA) or selector switches. This document covers the G100, S100, iS7, and H100 VFDs.
Note: The setup procedures listed below apply to VFDs that are NOT running the VFD’s internal PID process.
G100/S100
- Set the desired digital input (IN 65 - 69) to setting 15 (2nd Source).
- Set the 2nd Frequency source in bA/BAS 05.
- Set bA/BAS 04 to the same setting as dr/DRV 06. This will make the switch only toggle between the two reference sources.
iS7
- Set the desired digital input (IN 65 - 72) to setting 15 (2nd Source).
- Set the 2nd Frequency source in BAS 05.
- Set BAS 04 to the same setting as DRV 06. This will make the switch only toggle between the two reference sources while keeping the run command the same.
H100
- Set the desired digital input (IN 65 - 71) to setting 17 (2nd Source).
- Set the 2nd Frequency source in BAS 05.
- Set BAS 04 to the same setting as DRV 06. This will make the switch only toggle between the two reference sources while keeping the run command the same.
