How do I setup my VFD running PID with an HOA switch?
This FAQ contains the necessary parameter settings for using a multi-function (digital) input to switch between PID and a hand reference source. This operation is common to pumping panels utilizing Hand-Off-Auto (HOA) or selector switches. This document covers the G100, S100, iS7, and H100 VFDs.
Note: The setup procedures listed below apply to VFDs that are running the VFD’s internal PID process. There is another Application Note for VFDs not running PID. G100/S100
- Set the desired digital input (IN 65 - 69) to setting 23 (PID Open Loop).
- Set the frequency reference source in DRV 07. This is the reference source the drive will use when the "PID Open Loop" digital input is closed.
iS7
- Set the desired digital input (IN 65 - 72) to setting 23 (PID Open Loop).
- Set the frequency reference source in DRV 07. This is the reference source the drive will use when the "PID Open Loop" digital input is closed.
H100/H100+
- Set the desired digital input (IN 65 - 71) to setting 25 (PID Open Loop).
- Set the frequency reference source in DRV 07. This is the reference source the drive will use when the "PID Open Loop" digital input is closed.
